$5k Sign on Bonus: $2500 at end of 4 month Introductory Period and $2500 at the end of the first year!

Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for the support of Early Learning parents as they identify and meet their goals, the provision of crisis intervention services, data collection, documentation and actively integrating services with other agency services, utilizing the principles of Family Development.

  • Family Service Workers routinely orient parents to the services provided by Head Start as well as agency wide services through the provision of home visits, center contacts, telephone contacts, as well as annually during program recruitment.

  • Remains up-to-date on current services offered through SCAP. Conducts regular, but at a minimum two home visits each program year to all assigned families or if necessary coordinates and schedules these visits at the Center or appropriate alternative location at the convenience of the family.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or Associates Degree in Human Services and two (2) years directly related experience.

  • Family Development Credential preferred.

  • Computer literacy required and the ability to consistently upgrade skills to remain up-to-date on the use of technology in the workplace.

  • Knowledge and understanding of issues related to individuals and families in poverty. Ability to build upon the strengths of those we serve with diverse racial, cultural, social, educational and economic backgrounds, including high risk populations, to provide high-level services and lasting solutions to fit each individuals and family's needs.

  • Physical and background check required.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work as part of an agency wide team.

  • Flexible work schedule as required to meet the needs of the program and customers.

  • Must possess a valid New York State driver’s license and have a clean driving record.

  • Applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and show proof of vaccination [or receive a first vaccination by their first day]. Exemptions may be available on the basis of disability, medical contraindications to the vaccine, pregnancy or pregnancy related medical conditions and for religious reasons. Any requests for an exemption will be reviewed by the SCAP Human Resources Director and determined on a case by case basis.
