Job Description

This is an internship opportunity with GE Vernova's Consulting Services Grid Code Compliance & Testing team, located in Schenectady, NY.

Specific tasks will include:

  • Contributing to project teams that perform tests and technical analyses of electrical power plant dynamic performance.

  • Contributing to the team’s taxonomy project effort—auditing, cataloging, migrating, and categorizing previous customer deliverables.

  • Documenting and assessing existing tools used by the team, improving and/or automating some of these tools, and providing training to team.

  • Updating different document templates, on-boarding and training material used by the team.

  • Creating an inventory of the existing instrumentation test equipment, inspecting, organizing, and replenishing the components that are missing, low in quantity or damaged; and participating in site tests of power plant equipment with the team.

  • Receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class technologists and experienced technical managers

  • Grow your technical expertise in your chosen field and expand your skills in new areas.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline as listed below.

  • Following majors accepted: Electrical/Mechanical Engineering/Computer Science

  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).

  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process

  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships

  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

  • Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business

  • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship

Relocation Assistance:

Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.

Housing Allowance:

Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
