Description

Position Summary:

Under the Supervision of Aquatics Management lifeguards will ensure the safety of patrons of the aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Maintaining the overall look of the Outdoor Pool/ Family Park including but not limited to picking up trash, wiping tables/chairs, and checking restrooms. This is a seasonal position from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism

  • Will be rescue ready (JCC swimsuit, uniform, whistle, & personal protective equipment)

  • Remain vigilant and act quickly in making rescues and rendering aid

  • Enforce water safety standards (rules) and departmental regulations

  • Actively participate in all in-service trainings and drills

  • Exhibits excellent customer service

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, which may include monitoring pool chlorine levels

  • Pick up trash around Family Park

  • Set up tables and chairs for opening or stack and remove tables and chairs for closing

  • Routinely check restrooms for cleanliness or problems.

  • Restock toilet paper or paper towels when necessary

  • Assist supervisors as requested

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard; First Aid, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer; Waterfront Certifications.

  • Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness

  • Have an understanding of EAP procedures

    Physical Demands:

  • Good physical condition and strength.

  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

  • Able to stand on feet for long periods of time.

  • Able to squat and bend at waist
