Cornell Cooperative Extension Camp Director - Southold, NY in Southold, New York

Responsible for all aspects (administrative and program) of the 4-H summer camp's operations. Responsible for the overall safety and management of the camp facility during summer camp season. Insures compliance with camp safety plan submitted to Suffolk County Department of Health. Leads all camp planning and evaluation processes. Supervised by Extension Educator responsible for camp.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 25 years old or have a Bachelor’s degree to comply with NYS Department of Health regulations.

  • Must have at least 24 weeks of administrative or supervisory experience in camping or related experience

  • Must be able to live on site.

  • Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.

  • Ability to meet acceptable background check standards, if required.

  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree or course work in education, youth development, outdoor recreation, physical education or

  • related field. Valid driver’s license and ability to pass CCE Motor Vehicle screen.

POSITION DETAILS:

Salary: $23,800 for Camp Season

Schedule: NON-EXEMPT – TEMP: June 15, 2024 – August 25, 2024

No relocation or VISA Sponsorship available
