The Administrative Assistant for Residence Life and Judicial Affairs provides direct support to the Director of Residence Life and the Associate Dean for Student Life and may be required to support other functional area within Student Affairs. This position requires an understanding and innerworkings of various databases including Datatel Colleague, Maxient Conduct, and Star Rez Housing platforms and also must possess incredible customer service to a variety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the university.

Examples of Duties

Perform various day-to-day departmental administrative functions including but not limited to processing housing and meal plan changes/updates, flex dollar requests, and tracking of student conduct case files and sanctions for billing purposes.


Manages key inventory, including for the preparation of fall, spring, and summer session. Conducts billing if necessary for lock changes, requests, and missing keys.


Screens phone calls; provides information and assistance including responding to sensitive requests for information and assistance; assists the students, faculty, staff, vendors or visitors with information and office policies; responsible for sorting and distribute mail.15%

Performs purchases for various student affairs departments and reconciliation of monthly purchases/purchase orders. 5%

Coordinate pick-up of perishable on campus deliveries for students (i.e. Birthday Cakes/Fresh Flowers 5%

Other duties as assigned by Vice President for Student Affairs, Director of Residence Life or Associate Dean for Student Life and/or COVID-19 related needs


Typical Qualifications

High school diploma or its equivalency required, Associate degree preferred.

Three (3) years of relevant clerical/administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

  • Possess excellent administrative, communication and organizational skills.

  • Have advanced knowledge of all applications of the Microsoft Office Package, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
