THE VENUE

Legends is the official food and beverage partner of the Ballpark at St. George, a world-class sports and entertainment venue located in Staten Island adjacent to the iconic Staten Island Ferry with magnificent views of New York Harbor. The venue will be a year-round sport and entertainment complex anchored by the Staten Island Ferry Hawks, a professional baseball team playing in the Atlantic League. The partnership includes overseeing the venue’s food and beverage program development and management for concessions, suites, and premium areas for all game days. THE ROLE

Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and

Servers in a friendly and efficient manner.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize high quality spirits, liqueurs, fruits, to create sensational drinks for guests• Greet guests, take beverage orders from the restaurant servers or directly from guests• Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with company standards• Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages• Provide information on wine characteristics, evaluate guests needs, make appropriate suggestions and serve wine using proper wine service techniques• Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol• Collect payment for drinks served and balance all receipts• Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests, prepare inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions• Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of glass doors and windows, etc. as needed• Keep work area clean and organized• Organize Catering Storage Areas• Attend mandatory meetings• Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • At least one (1) year cashier experience or three months experience in a high-volume facility

  • Strong attention to detail and extremely organized with elevated time management and prioritizing skills

  • Must meet state and city health requirements for food handling and alcoholic beverage service

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-orientated setting

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with management and staff

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds up and down stairs

  • Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends and holidays

  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including: constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
