Food Prep – Staten Island Ferry Hawks (Staten Island, NY)

Legends is the official food and beverage partner of the Ballpark at St. George, a world-class sports and entertainment venue located in Staten Island adjacent to the iconic Staten Island Ferry with magnificent views of New York Harbor. The venue will be a year-round sport and entertainment complex anchored by the Staten Island FerryHawks, a professional baseball team playing in the Atlantic League. The partnership includes overseeing the venue’s food and beverage program development and management for concessions, suites, and premium areas for all game days. The Food Prep is responsible to prepare or assist with the food preparation or assist the cashiers with facilitating the orders to the guests


  • Serving customers in a timely and friendly manner.

  • Properly handling inventory.

  • Preparing the product.

  • Ensuring that all food warmers are kept full.

  • Maintaining proper food handling procedures.

  • Organizing their station.

  • Proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures

  • Organizing and cleaning the stand, removing garbage, and cleaning equipment.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervision


  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some colleges preferred.

  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age

  • Strong attention to detail and extremely organized with elevated time management and prioritizing skills

  • Must meet state and city health requirements for food handling and alcoholic beverage service

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with management and staff

  • Ability to work in an open-air environment during all climate conditions

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds, up and down stairs/ramps

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods

  • Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalism, positive outlook, and attention to detail

  • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and additional job-specific safety training

  • Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Must have or obtain NYC Food Protection Certificate
