EDPR North America LLC Summer Associate- DG Business Development in Staten Island, New York

General Description

Distributed Generation, a part of EDP Renewables North America, is looking for a Business Development summer associate.

This is a 10+ week paid internship that will start on or around June 06, 2022.

Main accountabilities:

Conduct research on solar regulations in various states and utility territories to understand new and emerging solar markets

Work closely with the Origination team to seek out new customers

Evaluate potential sites for solar development using parcel data, USGS topo maps, Google Earth, and other platforms

Work in Helioscope or PVSyst to develop initial solar designs

Assist in the development of a unique financial model for each customer, using state-specific data and inputs

Utilize Helioscope design and customer electric usage and billing data to develop a savings analysis

Develop creative slide deck proposals to share with potential customers

Contribute to responding to Request for Proposals in a timely manner

Communicate daily with critical internal teams

Manage time and shifting priorities among active opportunities

Minimum qualifications:

Excellent quantitative analytical and research skills

Advanced Excel functionality

Experience in Helioscope or PVSyst a plus

Excellent writing and communication skills - you are responsive and work well with others to solve problems

Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products preferred.

Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment

Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds

Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form

Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
