Stony Brook University Assistant Director of Ticket Operations in Stony Brook, New York
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full time experience working in the programming of activities, ticket sales, or external relations. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google applications. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in a Business related field or Sports Management. Experience in a collegiate or professional athletic setting. Experience in a corporate sports marketing or sales area. Experience with a computerized ticketing software. Experience in a box office setting. Brief Description of Duties: The Assistant Director of Ticket Operations will oversee the overall ticket operations for the Department of Athletics. This position is responsible for the execution of annual season ticket and group ticket plans in sports of football, men's and women's basketball and men's lacrosse. This position will be responsible for the coordination of all ticket allocations and distributions, reconciliation of all ticket accounts, athletic event ticket sales and operations including event staffing as it specifically relates to the ticketing operation. Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Ticket Operations and External Services Unit in the Department of Athletics. Ticket Operations This incumbent will oversee the daily operation of the Athletic Ticket Office. Duties include, but are not limited to processing and reconciliation of season, game-day and group ticket sales, the management of computerized ticket software, oversight of game-day ticket operations and staff, and supervision of complimentary (Will Call) ticket distribution. Incumbent will be directly responsible for overseeing department group sales initiatives and stewardship of all Stony Brook University Athletics season ticket holders. Additional duties include being responsible in creating and disseminating ticket brochures, soliciting and organizing group sales, assisting in ticket advertising campaigns (radio, TV, and print media), and processing payments and all monies through the Office of Financial Operations. Stewardship This position under the direction of the Director, in the cultivation and stewardship for Stony Brook season ticket holders and ticket buyers. The Assistant Director will help coordinate special season ticket holder events to enhance the season ticket holder experience. In some cases, the Assistant Director will be responsible for events on and off- campus in order to increase visibility of Stony Brook Athletic Programs. In these cases, he/she will be the responsible party for the event coordination and ticket sales associated with the event. Supervision The Assistant Director will oversee the management/supervision of interns and student staff. The Assistant will be responsible for creating and maintaining a valuable internship program in order to provide experience to the college students as well as staffing support during athletic events. Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission. Special Notes: This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,026 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
