Description

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Stony Brook Children's Hospital and the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University seeks a BC/BE Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join a vibrant division. Academic rank will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Candidates must be eligible for New York State licensure.

Stony Brook Children's serves the nearly 500,000 children of Suffolk County, NY, and boasts the following resources:

Gastroenterology faculty includes: 6 Board Certified Pediatric Gastroenterologists including a physician-scientist, 2 Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and a registered dietician. The division supports a well respected accredited fellowship program.

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology participates in both clinical and basic science research. In addition, the division participates in industry and investigator sponsored clinical trials. We have a strong presence at national meetings, including NASPGHAN. Several of our faculty and fellows have taken leading roles on NASPGHAN committees.

The successful candidate should possess an MD/DO degree, Board Certification in Pediatrics, and be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Candidates must have a commitment to collaborative clinical care, education, patient safety, and career development.

Candidates with additional training or experience in gastrointestinal motility or hepatology are especially encouraged to apply as there is an opportunity to expand these services on Long Island.

This is an academic faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Individuals will be selected on the basis of their training, clinical experience, research potential and commitment to teaching. Faculty appointment will be commensurated with qualifications. To qualify for an appointment as Associate Professor the candidate must meet the School of Medicine's criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure: (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: MD/DO Degree, Board Certified in Pediatrics, Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Eligible for Medical Licensure in New York State.

Preferred Qualifications: Research experience and interest in developing a research program.
