Required Qualifications: (Evidenced by an attached resume):

Associate's degree (or higher degree). Three (3) years of full-time office environment experience. Experience working with junior high, high school, undergraduate and/or graduate populations. Computer skills and general exposure to administrative processes.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in science, math or engineering. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience managing/updating program websites. Experience utilizing social media in an outreach capacity. Experience working with electronic purchasing and/or expense systems such as Wolfmart and Peoplesoft.

Brief Description: The Program Assistant for the Science and Technology Entry Programs will devote 50% of their time and duties to the high school program (STEP) and 50% to the undergraduate and graduate program (CSTEP). The incumbent should have excellent communication skills both orally and with the written word.


In collaboration with the Co-Directors, provide supervision of the summer residential program (e.g. live on site to oversee program activities within the dorms)

Develop and maintain Student Participant outreach efforts; social network and website manager.

Attend and supervise Saturday academic year components.

Assist in the coordination of student events during the summer and academic year (e.g. oversee Remind app outreach, create flyers and posts to market events and manage RSVPs); oversight of Parent Advisory Board and activities under the direction of the Co-Director for Student Engagement

Under the direction of the Co-Director, the incumbent will liaise with STEP club advisors at the three school districts to provide club activities/supplies, recruitment and guest speakers. (e.g. assist with supply deliveries to multiple schools)

Develop, implement and evaluate CSTEP Mentorship Program over the Summer and academic year. - Instruct Monthly Meetings - Oversee Journals - Oversee Advisors for Program - Advise Mentors and Mentees - Submit Grades

Coordinate CSTEP Student Advisory Board. - Oversee Bi-weekly Board meetings - Monitor Office Hours, task lists, etc. - Oversee Board's Sub Committee Meetings - Oversee events, workshops and activities run by Board

Other duties or projects as assigned.

Special Notes: Some nights, weekends and travel will be required for this position.The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
