SUNY Upstate Medical University 2023-2024 Federal Work Study - CHP Program Tutor in Syracuse, New York
Job Summary:
2-4 tutor positions are available starting for fall 2023 through summer 2024 for the Jump Start Your Health Career Program designed for high school students interested in health careers.
Location
The program will be based on the Upstate Medical University campus and will incorporate visits to teaching laboratories as relevant to the selected cases. Clinical tours will be included as feasible.
Program Overview
Jump Start Your Health Career uses complex and realistic patient cases as the basis for exploration of health care and health careers. Students will be divided into 4 groups of 4 for the small group work, guided by Upstate faculty and students. Through case explorations students will learn and practice the clinical reasoning process that guides the diagnostic and treatment process. Upstate clinicians, faculty and staff will provide interactive learning experiences in on-campus laboratories.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a current student enrolled at Upstate Medical University and approved for financial aid through the Student Financial Aid office at Upstate.

Work Days:
Saturdays: 9:30am – 12:15pm OR 9:30am – 2:30pm
Monday-Friday: some hours to be determined

Compensation Options
Federal work study or elective credit. Outside funding applications may provide other options. FWS students earn $16/HR
