Syracuse University Assistant Director, Transitions in Syracuse, New York
The Assistant Director for Student Transitions will be responsible for coordinating and executing large-scale events and programs that support the transition and belonging of approximately 4,000 new undergraduate students annually during Welcome Week. This role includes managing logistics, developing campus partnerships, overseeing Pre-Welcome programs, and leading communication strategies for new students through newsletters and social media. The Assistant Director will also manage a $100,000 budget and assess program outcomes. Additionally, they will oversee impactful transition initiatives, such as mentorship programs and first-year to second-year events, while recruiting and training student leaders for Welcome Week programming. This position also provides support for Summer and Spring Orientation, supervises student staff, and advises the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, making it a key role in fostering a smooth and successful student transition.
