Syracuse University Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access – Architecture in Syracuse, New York
Syracuse University School of Architecture—a top-ranked research institution that is committed to building a diverse faculty—seeks candidates for the newly created position of Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access (AD-DEIA) starting in the 2023-2024 academic year. The AD-DEIA will lead strategic efforts to increase and support marginalized and underrepresented populations among faculty, staff, and students; improve DEIA awareness in curriculum delivery and faculty research, and engage local, regional, and global communities to increase the public impact of the School of Architecture, in support of Syracuse University’s 2021 Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Strategic Plan (https://diversity.syr.edu/deia/). The AD-DEIA will work closely with administrators, faculty, staff, and students in the school and university to identify and further areas of excellence in DEIA efforts, as well as areas in need of improvements. The AD-DEIA will foster collaboration with committed partners to promote greater integration of learning outcomes, creative and scholarly work, and public impact across all School of Architecture initiatives.
The AD-DEIA is a full-time administrative, twelve-month, tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, with an administrative stipend, a reduced teaching load, and summer duties. The term of the initial AD-DEIA appointment will be three years with the possibility of renewal by mutual agreement.
