Bonadio Group, The Bookkeeper in Syracuse, New York

We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to be part of our seasonal team on the Small Business Team in the Bonadio Group’s Syracuse.

  • Prepare tax returns for a variety of small business clients from individual to partnership to corporations.

  • Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current tax trends.

  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.

  • Handle and manage multiple priorities, and deliver projects and engagements on time, within budget and to the client’s satisfaction.

  • Deliver quality client service (internal staff/external clients) and value while establishing and maintaining strong client relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in tax preparation

  • Excellent time management skills, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word

  • Must have experience with debits and credits

  • proficient in QuickBooks is a most

  • Computer proficiency and effectively applying technology tools in assigned areas

  • Exceptional customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent experience working in public accounting

  • Proficiency in ProSystem FX tax software or similar

  • Self-starter with the ability to handle and manage multiple priorities

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Hours of Operation

  • Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Our summer hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday.

  • The ability to work additional hours during busy season is critical, but the rest of the year, flexibility is key.
