Job Title: Box Office Event Staff

Reports To: Box Office Manager

FLSA Status: Part-Time / Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate: $15.00/hour

Venue: ASM Global / Empower FCU Amphitheater at Lakeview

Location: Syracuse, NY

THE ROLE

As part of our Box Office Event Staff Team, you will help to ensure safety, maintain the cleanliness of the venue, and engage with guests to assist with their needs before, during, and after the show.

This is a seasonal, part-time, event-based position that will begin May 2024 and end October 2024, with the possible extension of the position to The Oncenter for the Fall/Winter season.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Greet all guests with superior hospitality and customer service.

  • Scan guest tickets, examine tickets for entry, and answer questions.

  • Apply VIP wristbands.

  • May assist in verifying staff credentials in restricted areas.

  • Ensure and check wristbands as guests enter/exit applicable areas.

  • Monitor the VIP areas and be able to distinguish who has access to those areas.

  • Listen to customer concerns and act or react accordingly.

  • Communicate effectively via radio transmission.

  • Monitor assigned work area to assist in keeping the venue safe, clean, and presentable.

  • Assist in the Box Office performing Ticket Seller duties as needed.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED,

  • Minimum of 1 year in a guest services role,

  • Superior hospitality and customer service skills, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.

  • Ability to work at least 65% of scheduled shows from May 2024 – October 2024.

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

  • Ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.

  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.

  • Exceptional hospitality and customer service skills, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.

  • Ability to make professional, independent, and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

  • Basic computer skills; ability to learn new programs quickly.

  • Experience with electronic ticketing systems preferred, but not required.

  • Some knowledge of radio communication.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

  • This position may be exposed to adverse conditions such as loud noises, pyrotechnics, etc.

  • Ability to use hands/fingers to grasp or feel.

  • Ability to talk clearly and concisely with guests as well as other staff.

  • Ability to hear guests and other staff.

  • Position requires walking, climbing stairs, lifting, and carrying 25 lbs+, and standing for long periods.
