Associated Medical Medical Professionals of NY, PLLC Chief Radiation Therapist in Syracuse, New York

The Chief Radiation Therapist is responsible for both clinical and administrative duties in the AMP Radiation Oncology Division. Your responsibilities will require you to split your time between our offices in Syracuse and New Hartford, New York.

The Chief Radiation Therapist will be the leading resource for many clinical SOPs, staffing management, strong knowledge of insurance coding and billing around radiation therapy, policy, procedure maintenance, and assisting with the ACR accreditation process.

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of leadership skills and radiation therapy experience. They will need to have and maintain good lines of communication with supervisors, the Medical Director, and the physicians. They will ensure compliance with our policies and procedures amongst staff. They will be responsible for the organization and rotation of staff between offices, including dosimetry rotations. This position will also oversee the scheduling of patients for efficiency and the best utilization of employees and equipment.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Solid understanding of CPT& ICD-10 codes pertaining to radiation.

License and Certification:

  • Must be certified and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiation therapy.

  • Must be licensed by the New York State Department of Health as a radiologic technologist.

Experience:

  • Three or more years of recent experience with radiation therapy with demonstrated leadership skills are required.

  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records, such as ARIA and Eclipse, is preferred.

  • Minimum three years are actively practicing as an RTT to include Brachytherapy, SRS, SBRT, HDR, IMRT.

  • Minimum three years prior supervisory experience required.
