WHO WE NEED

We are seeking a versatile and team-oriented Environmental Scientist in the Ecological Group at our Syracuse, NY office . The Candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in the Biological Sciences, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Soil Science, Hydrology or similar program and 5 years of relevant experience. Primary duties will include:

  • Completing projects on time.

  • Being responsible for client satisfaction.

  • Assisting the Group Director in the preparation of Agreements.

  • Coordinating and scheduling outside consultants (surveyors).

  • Receiving all information coming into the office on a project and disseminate it to in-house team and outside consultants.

  • Scheduling and conducting necessary client and internal meetings. Prepare minutes of the meeting and distribute.

  • Responding promptly to phone calls, emails, faxes, and other forms of communication.

  • Identifying the scope of work, discuss immediately with the Group Director.

  • Implementing and complying with Quality Management System requirements.

  • Conducting fieldwork to investigate wetlands, streams, terrestrial systems including vegetation, wildlife, macroinvertebrates, soils and water.

  • Interpreting data to identify wetlands in accordance with State and Federal environmental laws.

  • Writing reports that present field findings and support permit applications.

  • Performing program research, planning, permitting, inspections and technical support services in relation to vegetation, soil, water and wildlife.

  • Providing guidance to clients to mitigate ecological impacts.
