THE ROLE
As an Event Security Officer for St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview, you will guard, patrol, and monitor the venue premises to keep guests, band members, employees, and vendors safe, and prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. This is a seasonal, part-time, event-based position.
COMPENSATION
$18.00/hour
WHAT TO EXPECT
Monitor and authorize entrances and exits to guard against theft, and maintain security and safety of the premises.
Conduct bag searches and operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
Circulate among guests and/or employees to preserve safety, order, and protect the venue property .
Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion.
Serve as checkpoint personnel to ensure all that enter your post have proper credentials.
Respond to safety & security calls in a professional and timely manner.
Investigate & compile accurate incident reports.
May write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
Adhere to the dress code and present yourself in a friendly and approachable manner.
REQUIREMENTS
- NYS Security Guard License
(we offer security training classes towards your license)
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must pass a background check.
Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment, and enforcement procedures.

High level of confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive situations.
Excellent communication skills.
Guest services oriented.
Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance.
Ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50lbs+, and occasional sitting.
