At Syracuse University, the Division of Enrollment and the Student Experience offers several higher education graduate assistantships annually. Assistantships are designed provide graduate students with an opportunity to gain professional skills through the implementation of programs and activities that support the University’s mission of providing students with an unsurpassed student experience. Graduate Assistantships are typically 20 hours per week and require some scheduled evening and weekend hours. Remuneration includes a stipend and twenty-four graduate credits (9 credits/semester, 6 credits/summer). General requirements for all positions include: • Acceptance into the Higher Education graduate program at Syracuse University. • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (some late night/weekend event attendance required). • Commitment to excellence in the development of student-centered programs and services and their assessment. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; public speaking experience. • Creativity, self-motivation, a sense of humor, initiative, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and strong organizational skills. • Ability to maintain privacy when working with students and FERPA protected student information. • Be able to work with students in individual and group settings. • Be able to work with and meet deadlines. • Be able to work in a flexible, changing environment. • Commitment to diversity education; equity and inclusion; and student growth and development.
