Trinity Health Maintenance Mechanic (2nd Shift) in Syracuse, New York
Operates and maintains all hospital mechanical and utility systems. Performs other duties as assigned to assist in achieving overall division and hospital goals. Safety and regulatory compliance is a condition of employment. May be required to work other shifts as well as rotating schedules and overtime.
*EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:*
Maintenance Mechanic: High School graduate of recognized equivalent plus formal trade/vocational school training with two years related experience. Completion of apprenticeship program highly desirable.
Participates in orientation and continuing education in order to maintain knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
*SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:*
Ability to use standard hand tools, machinery and equipment plus precision measuring tools. Basic to advanced knowledge of Direct Digital Control systems. Ability to read and interpret blue prints and to prepare material takeoffs. Basic to advanced code and regulatory knowledge. See General Performance Criteria for additional information.
*WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:*
Industrial setting: Clinical setting occasionally. Exposure Class 1. Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions. Intermittently exposured to unpleasant physical conditions, including but not limited to high temperatures and general outdoor seasonal weather conditions. Occasionally exposured to situations that could cause moderate to serious injury or illness, including but not limited to use of hand tools, power tools, operation of machinery and equipment, confined to space entry, materials and equipment cleaning utilizing various cleaning solutions.
Heavy work. Continual and repetitive motions, including but not limited to heavy lifting (up to 80 pounds), bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, crawling, climbing, prolonged walking and standing.
