Syracuse Athletics and Legends announced a 10-year partnership that will integrate data and analytics, marketing, ‘Cuse Athletics Fund annual giving, premium seating, and general ticket sales initiatives into a single revenue-driven approach. Legends will support the ‘Cuse Athletics Fund annual fundraising program. Legends’ unique fundraising platform, an essential service embraced by higher education, identifies effective fan and donor engagement strategies to amplify philanthropic giving and other opportunities. The partnership will also ensure that the Orange build upon their legacy of supporting student-athletes in the classroom and on the playing fields. Legends will also team with Syracuse University’s Falk College of Sport & Human Dynamics to provide education, mentorship, and career opportunities to students.
The Marketing Strategist, Paid, Organic Media, Email will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the successful implementation and completion of planned social media marketing programs across all Syracuse Athletics Varsity sports to help drive engagement, ticket sales and donation revenue. The ideal candidate will focus on social media communication, assist in the development and placement of social media marketing promotions and collateral, track existing marketing campaigns, and run reports on results. The Marketing Strategist, Paid, Organic Media, Email will work under the guidance of the Director, Digital Marketing Revenue Generation.
Plan, develop, and implement comprehensive paid media strategies to convert social audience to directly donate and/or to drive new leads through appropriate channels including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and email campaigns.
Analyze social media marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies.
Assist in the creation, execution, and distribution of emails, digital content and graphics working in conjunction with Syracuse Athletics Marketing.
Assist in the creation, execution, and distribution of all sales and marketing materials for Syracuse Athletics ticket offerings, donation solicitations, events, communications, and experiences.
Understand our audience, our competition and build content that drives customer engagement and traffic.
Suggest and implement new promotions, ads, competitions etc. to develop brand awareness, grow the audience and increase engagement
Community manage online conversations with customers
Maintain the highest level of knowledge and understanding of Facebook’s ad ecosystem by staying informed of changes in the ad auction, ad formats, campaign objectives, and bid strategies.
Track and communicate daily, weekly and monthly success and impact of marketing campaigns.
Build an expertise in all prominent social media ad ecosystems.
Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights.
Update marketing and sales teams regularly with summaries of social media data and trends.
Collaborate with other internal departments to create cohesive campaigns across digital and social, streamline processes, and ensure projects are executed to hit deadlines.
Demonstrate a high level of ownership and ability to work independently with minimal direction.
To maintain a working knowledge of TikTok and any other emerging social media platform.
To do any task as directed by Director, Digital Marketing Revenue Generation
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
2-3 years’ experience in a full-time digital marketing agency and/or social media position.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications or a related field
Demonstrated breadth of digital marketing knowledge with a strategic view on how social media programs can support search optimization, brand reputation management, and inbound marketing programs as well as paid, earned, and owned media goals.
Active and professional personal presence in social media, with working knowledge of each network and its best practices as it applies to B2C and B2B marketing.
Strong background in creative and innovating thinking and execution, with demonstrated capability for storytelling, creative content creation, and persuasive messaging.
Experience in creating, executing and optimizing social media advertising campaigns using Facebook Business and Ads Manager.
Proficient computer skills, including MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Campaign email platform. Experience in Oracle Eloqua is a plus. Marketing software (Web analytics, Google Adwords etc.)
