We are seeking a motivated, results-oriented college student to join our team from January-December 2023. The Carrier co-op experience offers interns an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy.

Focus Areas

  • New Product Development

  • HVAC Engineering, Parametric Design, Airflow Management, Controls

  • Product Documentation

  • Project Management

Specific Tasks

  • Clean Up / Update Product Data

  • Configure and build CAD models to assist in speedy decision-making on NPD projects

  • Develop test cases to validate Product Design and Software

  • Support engineering projects by organizing parts for prototype builds and working with mechanics and model shop to build parts and assemblies

  • Work with the design team in developing purchased parts specifications

  • Attend company functions, lunch and learns, and networking events

  • Shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks

Experience/Qualifications

  • This role is intended for students attending Syracuse University

  • Part-time (10 hours) during school year, full-time (40 hours) during summer

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Self-driven and proactive

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

  • Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects

  • Programming skills or experience preferred (Java / JavaScript / Regular Expressions / XML / VBA)

Education

  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field of study

  • GPA must be greater than or equal to a 3.0 GPA

  • Relevant coursework or previous internships preferred
