THE ROLE

As the Operations Supervisor you will lead the Conversion Crew and Custodians in the completion of all aspects of the conversion, cleaning, and maintenance of the venue in preparation for, and cleanup after events. Duties may include setting up and tearing down portable chairs, removable seats, other furnishings and equipment, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, dressing rooms, Event Center, and other public areas, as well as trash and recyclable cleanup. This is a seasonal, part-time, event-based position that will begin May 2024 and end October 2024.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Direct and supervise personnel, ensuring the day-to-day operations of the venue are met, including meeting the standards of the County Parks Department.

  • Operate and supervise proper usage of vacuum cleaners, trash compactor, leaf blower, and golf carts.

  • Lead the proper cleaning of the Event Center, VIP, Box Office, Pavilions, Restrooms, Pathways, Loading Dock, and Lawn before, during, and after concerts and events.

  • Assist in the development of staff, including training employees on procedures and equipment.

  • Assist in maintaining equipment, tools, and supply inventory, report irregularities, discrepancies, safety concerns, damage concerns or loss of property promptly to Manager.

  • When not supervising, perform the tasks of the Custodian and/or Conversion Crew.

  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, and

  • One-year experience in a supervisory role required, -OR-

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be able to maintain predictable and reliable attendance.

  • Must be able to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled overtime shifts as needed.

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

  • Ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.

  • Excellent hospitality and customer service skills, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.

  • Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.

  • Mature judgment and professionalism in handling all matters.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Must have the physical ability to bend, stoop, and maneuver around facility(ies), at times, extensive walking and/or standing for 8-10 hours or greater as required.

  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility to move quickly to the different areas of the facility as demands require.

  • Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 75+ lbs.
