Falk College is seeking a part-time instructor to teach SWK 775 M700 Program Evaluation for the Summer 2023 semester (5/15/23-8/25/23, Async opens week of 5/8) Online Live 90-minute Synchronous Session w/asynchronous content management (Wednesdays 6:00-7:30 p.m. EST)
Course Description: Evaluation of human service programs reflected in students’ field placements. Evaluability assessment. Program description. Posing evaluation questions. Quantitative and qualitative methods of needs assessment, information management, process evaluation, outcome evaluation, cost analysis, and reporting results. Students enrolled in the course must have a taken pre-req of SWK 662 with a co-req of SWK 771 or SWK 772.
The course aims to help students develop the conceptual knowledge and research skills necessary to evaluate social work practice and human services programs. While the course emphasizes the internal evaluation of service delivery programs, connections are drawn to policy-level evaluation and to the evaluation of clinical practice. The course presents an overview of basic elements of program evaluation and examines the agency context of evaluation, using students’ field settings. Throughout the course, ethnic and cultural competence are addressed as core issues of evaluation practice. Students also will become more critical consumers of published research and evaluation literature.
SWK 775 is designed for graduate students whose primary interest is in developing knowledge and skill for the evaluation of health and human service programs.
