Syracuse Athletics and Legends announced a 10-year partnership that will integrate data and analytics, marketing, ‘Cuse Athletics Fund annual giving, premium seating, and general ticket sales initiatives into a single revenue-driven approach. Legends will support the ‘Cuse Athletics Fund annual fundraising program. Legends’ unique fundraising platform, an essential service embraced by higher education, identifies effective fan and donor engagement strategies to amplify philanthropic giving and other opportunities. The partnership will also ensure that the Orange build upon their legacy of supporting student-athletes in the classroom and on the playing fields. Legends will also team with Syracuse University’s Falk College of Sport & Human Dynamics to provide education, mentorship, and career opportunities to students.
As a member of the Syracuse Athletics team, the Premium Sales Manager, is primarily responsible for driving revenue and hitting sales goals around season, group, corporate hospitality and premium seating packages for the Syracuse football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball programs. We are seeking an experienced team member with a positive, results-oriented approach to sales and VIP experiences, who can communicate clearly across all platforms and work diligently to identify and convert new ticket members. The Premium Sales Executive will work under the guidance of the General Manager.
The candidate will be responsible for offering a full menu of club, corporate box, premium seat packages as well as VIP experiences for Syracuse football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball.
Reach and exceed individual and team sales revenue goals.
Execute outbound sales calls on all potential customers through prospecting, cold calling, and referrals from current customers. The candidate will be accountable for certain levels of activity (calls made/appointments set) and goals.
Identify and manage a portfolio of premium season ticket members, alumni and fans with specific affiliation to Syracuse athletics.
Using primarily online digital strategies, in addition to phone and in-person outreach, you will cultivate our client relationships with Syracuse Athletics.
Set and conduct in stadium, arena and out of the office sales appointments.
Effectively use Salesforce CRM to maintain accurate records of all client and prospect interactions.
Assist with managing and stewarding existing season ticket members.
Serve as a main point of contact for general athletic ticket inquiries that come in through inbound phone calls, email, and social media.
Work in conjunction with Syracuse’s ticketing staff to promote and generate sales on all events while providing a great fan experience.
Must be willing to work non-traditional hours, weekends, events and game days (including Holidays).
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
3+ years of prior sales experience is preferred
Prior experience selling six and seven figure deals in the professional or collegiate sports and entertainment industry is preferred.
Prospect and cultivate new sales leads through creative lead generation methods, as well as follow up on leads provided by partner organization
Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels of an organization
Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills a must
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining organized, efficient and calm under pressure
Ability to prioritize and meet competing deadlines independently
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Proficient in software programs including Salesforce CRM and Paciolan
Effectively communicate with donors and C-level clients
Resourceful, innovative and forward thinking
Ability to generate new business from companies and individuals not currently supporting Syracuse Athletics.
Ability to handle heavy volume of outbound and inbound phone calls and emails
Strong time management and organizational skills with an attention to detail
