Ramboll US Corporation Structural Design Intern in Syracuse, New York

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available for this position. Ramboll is accepting applications for the Summer 2023 internship program at our office located in Syracuse, NY. Each participant will be assigned a mentor who will guide them through project assignments. The program will provide internship participants with the opportunity to gain experience working in one or more practice areas. Our goal is to afford our interns experience with a variety of projects during the summer program to broaden their understanding an experience within their field of interest. Tasks and Responsibilities As our new Structural Engineering Intern, you will be part of a highly skilled and experienced team of building design professionals who execute interesting and diverse projects in the municipal, industrial, institutional and commercial sectors. Our team is at the forefront of helping clients achieve their built environment goals emphasizing sustainability concepts. You will have opportunities to collaborate with design and construction professionals in all the Ramboll business units and organizations in the Americas and globally including Environment & Health, Water, and Advanced Manufacturing. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be: Assist with completing assignments requiring a knowledge of structural engineering fundamentals and the application of those fundamentals to the production of engineering deliverables Assist with executing a variety of engineering tasks including the preparation of reports, investigatory studies, engineering design calculations, and Contract Documents Maintaining routine communications with the project team members during design and construction phases of a project Reviewing schedules and budgets of projects for which you are working on Assist the design team by performing detailed calculations, coordination Assist the design team with completion of contract documents, specifications, and cost estimates Visiting project sites to review work in progress, gain field experience, and advance practical engineering skills Your starting point for constant growth From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is: Candidates should be working toward a B.S or M.S degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with an interest in pursuing a career in Structural Engineering. Candidates with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above are strongly preferred. Candidates with the completion of 4 college semesters (rising Junior status) are strongly preferred. Salary Transparency Statement At Ramboll, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role is likely to be compensated at an hourly rate between $22 and $25 per hour. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range, depending on numerous factors, includingexperience, geographical location, internal equity, market conditions, education/training andskill level, and does not include bonuses, overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
