WHO WE NEED
We are seeking a versatile and team-oriented Structural Engineer in the Specialty Precast/Sports Group at our Syracuse, NY office to help us compete in the rapidly expanding sports-related industry. This is a fast-paced job that combines the enthusiasm for sports with an engineering background, the ability to work with clients across the country, and provides an opportunity to collaborate with sports manufacturers. We have been working extensively in the sports-related field for over 10 years. We have provided structural design for some of the most iconic stadiums in the world for Major League Baseball teams, including the Yankees, Red Sox, and the Washington Nationals. We have also been involved in design work for National Football League teams, along with other professional college and high school teams.
The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 6-10 years of relevant experience or an Associate’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 10-15 years of relevant experience. Experience should include structural analysis, design, and detailing for concrete and steel structures. The candidate should be proficient the International Building Code (IBC); ASCE-7; ACI 318; AISC; AASHTO. They should also be proficient with structural analysis/design software and AutoCAD. This position requires an individual that has strong technical abilities with good organizational and communication skills. An EIT certificate is required. A Professional Engineer License is preferred.
Primary duties will include preparing structural design or precast concrete and steel structures; preparing structural design summary and shop drawings using AutoCAD; considering alternate designs and value engineering; meeting scheduled project deadlines; and communicating with client representatives.
