Hillside Children's Center Supervisor HWSC in Syracuse, New York

We are hiring for a Supervisor of our Work Scholarship Connection Program.This is a tremendous opportunity to manage a nationally recognized youth development program!

Hillside's Work Scholarship Connection Program is proven to increase graduation rates and prepare students to enter college or the workplace, post-graduation. The program provides long-term advocacy, academic resources, life skills development, and job training, resulting in self-sufficient, contributing adults for the community. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring Hillside Work Scholarship Connection (HW-SC's) mission, policies and core model are implemented successfully in his/her assigned school(s) through the performance of the Youth Advocate (YA) role. The Supervisor is coach - develops, leads and inspires - of the YA's in order to meet the needs of the students through delivery of the core model, after school programming, summer programming, and family engagement activities. The Supervisor is responsible for the efficiency of the day-to-day operations of the program including scheduling employees, hiring, training, and safety of youth, families and employees.

Responsibilities:

Manage the daily operations of the HWSC at assigned school location(s); ensure that core services, after school programming, summer programming and family engagement activities are delivered and tracked accurately and efficiently.

Connect and build relationships with all school based personnel (Principals, Administrators, Teachers, Students and Support Center employees).

Utilize connections to leverage resources required to generate positive outcomes for HWSC students.

Delegate, monitor and provide support as needed to ensure services outlined by the core services model are received by eligible students at their assigned school location. Re-assign work to Youth Advocates (YA's) as needed to cover any absences.

Coordinate employee's schedules to meet the needs of the program.

Review and analyze reports generated by Business Intelligence; identifies areas where team performance does not meet or exceed expectations and coordinate action plans to improve individual/team performance.

Effectively manage expenses against budgetary parameters.

Requirements:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree preferably in business, employment training, human services or youth development

1+ year(s) of supervisory experience, including basic knowledge of training, development, progressive discipline practices

Prior youth development or project management experience is preferred

Prior experience implementing youth programming is preferred

In place of direct supervisory experience, a candidate with 3+ years of HW-SC specific experience and demonstration of leadership abilities may be considered

Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is preferred

Should have a valid driver's license and meet agency driving standards
