United Technologies Marine Solutions
Several of our companies at United Technologies have been suppliers to the international maritime and offshore industries for decades, and by coordinating our activities under one marine umbrella we are able to utilize our newest technology and offer a wide portfolio of marine solutions, services and expertise to ship builders, ship owners and operators worldwide. Carrier Marine and Offshore Systems is responsible for providing air conditioning products and systems from cruise ships to fishing boats and offshore drilling platforms to oil tankers.

We are looking for a Marine Technical Sales Manager to support the Marine Sales team. You will be based out of Syracuse, NY, Houston, TX or Miami, FL as well. There is approximately 20 percent travel.
Achieve annual sales, gross margin and market share targets for Marine finished goods/equipment and parts sales
Manage and grow business through existing and new accounts by promoting Carrier's products, developing long term relationships and building partnerships with the customer; provide customers with extraordinary value and service
Develop and influence growth strategies to target business via non-traditional channels; enthusiastically pursue new market segments to expand direct business
Develop internal expertise to position Carrier as premier solution provider; provide product and system expertise within key vertical markets
Reviewing customer specifications and recommending solutions; develop and execute sales proposals, contracts
Daily duties include executing quotes, follow-up and close work with customers, handle post-sale submittal and order entry work, assist with project management duties, accounts receivable responsibilities| --- BA/BS degree in
Engineering or Business with 10 years of related experience
MA/MS degree in Engineering or Business with 7 years of related experience|
5 years HVAC industry experience in professional sales or marketing positions of growing responsibility
Fully developed professional able to work without direction or guidance from others
Sense of urgency, self-initiative, commitment and sense of ownership is a requirement
Superior follow-up and follow-through skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to handle multiple priorities
Collaborative, ability to create strong internal relationships, and ability to work in a fast paced environment
Strong communication skills and able to interact within a multi-functional team
Excellent problem solving and creative analytical skills
Sales Management experience is helpful
Adaptability and flexibility to seasonality and changing business demands is critical.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and QuoteBuilder, SAP/HVAC Partners; knowledge of HVAC design and application tools
