Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Postdoctoral Fellow - Neuroscience / Neurodegeneration / Neuroinflammation in Tarrytown, New York

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Neuroscience team at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in Summer/Fall 2022. We are working on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying neuronal damage in a wide range of neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and ALS. This is a well-established and fully equipped scientific environment, with publication-worthy projects. You will be encouraged to explore your scientific ideas, and flex your scientific critical thinking skills in order to drive high-impact publications.

In this role a typical day might include the following:

  • Exploring new ways to therapeutically target microglia and neuroinflammation with the aim of identifying novel treatment strategies for targeting neurodegeneration, specifically in Alzheimer’s disease.

  • Publishing and disseminating data via external conferences and peer-reviewed publications

  • Participating in postdoctoral program activities such as weekly meetings and the annual research conference

  • Presenting data internally, including at lab meetings, trainee meetings, and company-wide seminars

  • Providing reports of research progress to supervisors and program staff

This role might be for you if:

  • You have a proven track-record of scientific productivity (e.g., publications, conference presentations/abstracts)

  • You can work both independently and collaboratively

  • You have strong communication skills

Experience and preferred skills:

  • In vitro experience (e.g., primary cell culture, cellular assays; FACS and/or flow cytometry)

  • In vivo mouse (and/or rat) experience (e.g., animal handling, behavioral assays, histology, stereotactic surgeries)

  • Experience with microscopy (e.g., confocal, spinning disc)

The postdoctoral fellow position is for early career investigators to receive a rigorous scientific training at Regeneron under the auspices of a scientist mentor for up to four years. Fellows will be expected to conduct creative exploratory research that results in publications. To be considered for this role you must possess a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD (or be ready to graduate in 2022) in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or related field and be looking for your first postdoctoral training.
