Carl Zeiss SBE Territory Account Manager - Hunt/Nature Northeast US in Thornwood, New York

The Territory/Account Manager (TAM) Northeast US - Sports Optics is responsible for managing the ZEISS Sports Optics sales and retail distribution efforts associated with an assigned territory - including the states of Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. The ideal candidate will be highly driven and have considerable experience managing sell-in and sell-out strategy for a specific territory and account list, a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets within a given budget, and the ability to contribute and thrive within a close-knit team environment.

Primary Sales and Retail Distribution Facing Duties Include:
Developing the Sales Relationship with the assigned account base, locating new distribution opportunities, and strategically executing the Sales and Service Cycle accordingly:
Product Assortment
Promotional and Event Planning
Scheduled Service Calls
Inventory Management
Seasonal Transition Management
Key Account Planning

Primary Responsibilities Toward Internal ZEISS Stakeholders Include:
Building, Maintaining, and Executing a Comprehensive Territory Plan
Forecasting / Demand Planning
POS Reporting
Field Pulse Reporting

Event Participation:
Shooting Sport Trade Shows
Shooting Sport Consumer Events
Regional Shooting Events
Regional Retail Events

A deep knowledge level of the Shooting Sports Industry and shooting is mandatory:
Rifles: Strong understanding of various types and their intended applications
Ammunition, ballistics and reloading understanding - and why they matter
Birding knowledge (desirable) and willingness to engage with this market
Optic knowledge (very desirable)

Seasoned direct-sales experience working within a prescribed territory and account base:
Strategic account planning for maximizing each account
Goal setting, forecasting, support planning and execution
Strong ability to manage the relationship via in-person calls and virtual meetings
Seasoned travel experience (current Passport will be required)

Communication excellence - Internal and External:
Written, verbal
Training (ability and willingness to teach others)
Presentation (qualifying, presenting solutions, closing, and product demonstrations)
Provides accounts with ongoing reminders and updates of all brand/product collateral

Other proven abilities/skills
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
SalesForce / CRM (not required but preferred)
SAP (not required but helpful)

Special Working Conditions:
Resides within the 8-state Northeast territory, including: Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine
Resides within a reasonable driving distance to a regional or international airport
Willing to travel an average of 50% of the time, sometimes more.
