Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers' needs.We are currently looking for an experienced TransportDriverout of our Tonawanda, NY facility. This is a seasonal position. The minimum starting rate for this role is $27/hour.
- Haul asphalt based emulsion and or hot oil throughout New York State
- Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of assigned commercial motor vehicle: This requires climbing up, on and over unit to verify everything is in proper working order.
- Transport various pieces of construction equipment to multiple job sites across New York and occasionally Pennsylvania
- Must have a valid Class A CDLwith Airbrakes and Tanker Endorsement required; HazMat Endorsements preferred
- Must have a good driving record
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience preferred
- Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Regularly required to climb in and out of vehicles and/or equipment
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Regularly required to stand and walk across uneven terrain
- Frequent exposure to loud noise
- Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles, exposure to high temperatures
- Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
- Occasional travel with overnight stays away from home may be required
