Job Summary

The Testing Ambassadors are members of Rensselaer’s COVID-19 testing team and report to Testing Coordinators.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize established technologies to operate check-in procedures, including greeting customers, scanning ID’s and producing vial labels

  • Set up specimens and assist Nurse Testers in timing of all specimens

  • Serve as a testing observer to instruct patients on how to correctly collect their own nasal swabs. Notify a Nurse if the student is unable to collect their own sample.

  • Label specimens following established protocols and bring specimens to lab area.

  • Assist with cleaning of lab and testing areas as needed.

  • Act as communicators for announcing when people can leave once the results are back (if performing Antigen testing) and to be on site to help with crowd control, lining up, and ensuring COVID 19 safety precautions are upheld (distancing, facemasks)

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods

  • Must be able to walk/move quickly

Shift

9:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday – Thursday (about 28 hours per week) through approximately May 6th, 2022
