Our kW Mission Critial Project Management Team is seeking a Summer 2023 Mission Critical Project Management Intern to work out of one of the following offices: Atlanta, GA , Troy NY , Milwaukee, WI , and Phoenix, AZ .

At kW Mission Critical Engineering, a part of WSP USA, that’s exactly what we do.  

Simply, data centers are buildings that store information technology. These mission critical facilities must remain operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Your role is to design the building infrastructure—power and cooling systems—to make sure that happens.  

Be a part of an engineering team where from day one, you will collaborate and add value to every project. Gain invaluable experience early in your career. Not only will you be designing building systems, you’ll interact with all internal mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and telecommunication engineers, external design partners like architects and structural engineers, and equipment vendors for the development of drawings and specifications. Then, travel to project locations during construction and watch your designs being built for some of the largest companies in the world.

Your Impact

  • Support a variety of project management tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.

  • Learn basic principles of Project Management.

  • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.

  • Complete training on assigned tasks.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Engineering, Business, or related Undergraduate program.

  • Demonstrated interest in Project Management or related field and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.

  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

  • Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.

  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

  • Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.

Expected Salary: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour

WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
