Flushing Bank Portfolio Management Summer Intern in Uniondale, New York

General Statement of Duties: Responsible for the review of commercial real estate loans to ensure credit quality conforms to established company policy and regulatory guidelines with the overall goal of assessing the ability of debt repayment and assigning an appropriate risk rating. Loan review will include, but is not limited to, an analysis of the property operating statement, rent roll, lease agreements, collateral position, site inspection, appraisal, guarantor financial statements, and portfolio cash flow.
Major Duties & Responsibilities: Analyze property financial information to determine property cash flow, trends, and risks to assess debt repayment ability. Review guarantor-related financial information including personal financial statements, income tax returns, and real estate schedules. Prepare loan review reports detailing property cash flow, potential credit weaknesses, calculated financial ratios, and individual risk rating assessments. Review legal & credit documents including mortgage notes, loan underwriting, appraisals, lease agreements, and site inspections. Communicate with Borrowers, Property Managers, Accountants, and other departments on the requests for financial statements. Utilize internal bank systems and databases to resolve any potential discrepancies. Work closely and support other colleagues within the team. Perform other duties and work on special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Enrolled in college or university, preferably a rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Preferably Accounting, Finance or Business Administration major Interest in real estate is a plus Proficient experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong written and oral communication skills Pay: $16.00/hour Hours: 37.50 This is a part-time position, eligible for overtime if hours worked are over 40 hours. The actual compensation will be based on qualifications, experience and other factors permitted by law.
