Program highlights include networking with senior leaders and recent college graduates, feedback and coaching, cross-functional shadowing opportunities, and more!Team Description: *The manufacturing engineering team at Conmed is responsible for maintaining daily production and improving operations in the future. We support operations daily objectives as well as lead longer term projects designed to drive efficiencies and value into our manufacturing operations.Learning Outcomes: Interns in this team will develop an understanding of the manufacturing process, lean manufacturing, applied six-sigma problem solving, project management, machining processes and technology, time studies, operator utilization, GD&T, and more manufacturing related skillsets.Intern Impact: The summer intern will be a critical resource to dedicate time to longer term projects aimed at improving efficiency in future operations for Conmed. A successful intern will have a presentable project (subject to be determined) at the conclusion of the program that directly effects the efficacy of continued operations at our Largo facility (margin, headcount, efficiency).Intern Responsibilities:- Autonomously lead 1 main project throughout the course of the internship program while simultaneously working to support other engineers and daily production- Work closely with other engineers to accomplish project related tasks- Develop and present project summaries to clearly communicate status, projected impact, and timelines for the project that you own- Coordinate with manufacturing support functions (quality, R&D, operations) to accomplish various cross-functional tasks- Use regimented, standard problem-solving techniques (six-sigma) to clearly communicate problems, root causes, and solutions to non-technical personnel- Contribute to the manufacturing culture in Largo based around teamwork, support, and metric-driven reportingPosition Requirements:- Pursuing completion of a bachelors or master's degree in a related field, such as Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or Biomedical Engineering- Must be available to work onsite (Utica,NY), 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday throughout the internship program (May 20 - July 26, 2024)Disclosure as required by applicable law, the hourly pay rate for this position is $19.00 to $31.00.The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level.
