Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute Retail Operations Associate - Full Time in Utica, New York

Provide exceptional customer service to patrons of the Museum Shop and to students of the School of Art Campus Store at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute. Assist in the day to day store operations by: Become familiar with MWPAI exhibitions, classes, events, performances, and activities to best serve customer needs Greet and assist customers in a timely manner. Being responsive to customer’s needs Operate POS cash register for sales, returns, credits and voids, and ticket sales Perform open/close duties and process and pricing of merchandise as per departmental procedures Maintain retail displays, store inventory levels and shop appearance to ensure a positive customer experience Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Ability to engage patrons and students in a friendly and enthusiastic manner. Two years experience in a retail setting, such as a specialty art, bookstore or museum preferred. Art background especially helpful. Physical requirements include lifting, bending, standing, carrying merchandise, and occasionally move heavy cartons. Hiring Rate and Benefits $13.00 hourly. Additional hours to cover evening or weekend events in both the Campus Store and Museum Shop. Peak periods for retail operations include holiday shopping season, summer arts festival, PrattMWP student orientation and events, and other MWPAI events. Full-time Position Tuesday through Saturday with full benefits including health, dental, vision plans, paid time off, sick, and holidays. Part time position is also listed on Job Bank.
