OverviewLead and support product development efforts for the Gatorade Performance Portfolio, including new idea generation, prototype development, product optimization, and production start-up. In addition, translate strategic market objectives into new products, optimize designs per consumer response, and select winning ideas for commercializationResponsibilities* Lead GPP Beverage Innovation/Product Development projects.* Plan, conduct, and document product development lab work, including development of bench top prototypes, implementation and maintenance of stability testing, and scale-ups for commercialization* Formulate products by accurately preparing laboratory beverages and concentrates and submitting samples for analytical and sensory evaluation. Create beverage documents; ensure products are safe, stable, and legal* Possess technical foundation of ingredient functionality and potential interactions* Ability to conduct experiments, analyze data, and make recommendations to address technical challenges* Good communication skills both verbal and written, including timely and accurate documentation of work in system, actively communicate status of research* Demonstrates ability to understand application of consumer research and experimental design to project objectives* Collaborate with cross functional team to reach project objectivesKey Challenges* Ability to quickly learn, demonstrate proper laboratory techniques, and formulate products* Ability to self-initiate and manage multiple project tasks independently to meet business objectives and to support the individuals of the workgroup* Ability to anticipate, communicate, and highlight risksCritical Competencies:* The successful candidate will be experienced in the consumer goods industry and demonstrate the following skills:* Intellectual curiosity* Strong laboratory skills* Analytical Thinking* Ability to work in a team environment* Communication/Presentation Skills (verbal and written)* In addition, the following capabilities will be essential to success in the job* Ability to provide critical thinking on tactical aspects of projects* Outstanding time management, team working, and communication skills* Ability to analyze and communicate implications of experimental resultsCompensation and Benefits:* The expected compensation range for this position is between $90,800 - $97,000 based on a full-time schedule.* Location confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.* Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 5% paid out Annually.* Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.* In addition to salary, PepsiCo offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees and their families, subject to elections and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, Employee AssistanceQualifications* B.S. in Food Science or related discipline* 2 year experience - Research and/or Industry. Estimated 90% in lab.* This position will require flexibility in working hours to set-up and complete focus groups, product expos, pilot plant scale-ups or plant trials that may extend past typical working hours* Field Travel will be required (domestic & international).
