JOB TITLE:             Bartender 

REPORTS TO:        Manager

DEPARTMENT:     Operations

FLSA STATUS:       Non-exempt

                       

 

OVERVIEW: The Bartender is responsible for providing excellent guest service by mixing and serving beverages at the bar and in the restaurant. This position is critical to Buffalo Wild Wings; the bartender affects the restaurant by delighting guests, supporting team members, creating great beverages, and ensuring alcohol compliance and revenue growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

                                                                                                   

Wow ‘Em In

·        Greets Guest (s) within 45 seconds; enthusiastic and friendly.

·        Inquire about reason for visit and tailors service.

·        Ask if guest is a Blazin Rewards Member

·        Inquire about Guest’s timeline if between 11-2 M-F.

Quench & Assist

·        Flags bar rail w/ beverage napkin.

·        Offers and describes a specific beverage; features, beer, soft drink.

·        Demonstrates knowledge of 1-2-3 approach.

·        Cards Guests that order an alcoholic beverage (appear 40 or younger).

·        Delivers drinks within two (2) minutes.

·        Places new receipt in front of Guest, at bar rail, after each drink delivery.

·        Makes Genuine Suggestion for specific Sharable/Appetizer.

·        Makes Genuine Suggestions for sauce/seasoning customization.

·        Repeats back order to Guest(s).

Deliver it N.O.W.

·        Delivers food, confirms the order when placed in front of Guest.

·        Places protein/entrée at 6 o’clock position in front of Guest.

·        Ensures Guests have utensils, boats, napkins, and condiments.

·        Ensures Guests have full beverages; offers refill or new beverage option.

·        Asks if Guest has all they need to begin the meal.

·        Leaves Guests with a friendly salutation.

·        Provides new receipt with food and beverage totals.

Are We Blazin'?

·        Checks back w/ Guest within 2 minutes or 2 bites.

·        Verifies Guest is totally satisfied with order.

·        Offers beverage refills (I/A).

·        Makes Genuine Suggestion for a specific dessert.

·        Pre-busses bar rail as able.

·        Delivers dessert, w/ fresh utensils and napkins.

*Wow 'Em Out *

·        Processes payment immediately.

·        Thanks guests for visiting, invites them back, explains GEM survey on receipt.

*Beer Pour *

·        Inspects a pilsner glass to ensure glass is "beer clean".

·        Tilts the glass.

·        Grasps the tap handle and opens all the way.

·        Straightens the glass to finish pour.

·        Finishes with a 1” and or 3/4” collar of foam.

Miscellaneous

·        Can explain the importance of providing the Ultimate Social Experience for Sports Fans at B-Dubs®.

·        Engages with Guests easily and often.

·        Follows franchise standards when pouring and mixing bar cocktails.

·        Maintains cleanliness and organization on bar rail, top, and back bar.

·        LDIR on garnish caddy (4 hour).

·        Bar Mixes have LDIR stickers.

·        Born on Date sign is set to current day.

·        Demonstrates good relationship building skills with bar Guests.

·        Demonstrates good cash handling skills; rings order, presents receipt or cash return appropriately.

·        Understands ‘last call’ procedures.

·        Manages service bar requirements effectively.

·        Knows glassware program requirements.

·        Changes out the beer taps when needed.

·        Other duties as assigned or as become evident.

*EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING: *

·        Basic knowledge of beer, wine and spirits and standard drink recipes required.

·        Minimum of one (1) year in a bartender position within the restaurant business required.

·        Self-starter who is energetic and flexible.

*CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: *

·        Must possess alcohol dispensing certification.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
