Pomo Ridge Farm LLC Agricultural Equipment Operators in Wallkill, New York
1 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Jobs available 06/10/2024- 11/15/2024.
Manually prune plant, cultivate, & harvest vegetables & fruits. Pick fruit & vegetables during harvest such as apples, pears, peaches, plums, tomatoes, squash, and eggplant.
Miscellaneous orchard work and upkeep including weeding and fertilization of crops, and suckering apple trees. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, & self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow & fertilize soil or to plant, cultivate, & harvest crops. Construct trellises; repair fences & farm buildings. Set up & operate irrigation equipment. Clear and maintain irrigation ditches.
Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmers fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis.
Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities.
Not all workers are requested to drive; drivers will be required to possess a valid operators license. No one will be rejected for the position that does not possess a class D license.
Must be physically able to lift up to 75lbs on a consistent basis throughout the day. While working in the field, all cell phone usage is limited to emergency use only. Due to health and safety concerns on a farm, worker must understand basic instructions in English.
Requirements: * Three months experience of the duties mentioned * Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds * Exposure to extreme temperatures * Extensive sitting/walking, frequent stooping, and repetitive movements * Employee required to have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a vehicle.
