Community Action Planning Council Registration Supervisor in Watertown, New York

The Registration Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and assisting in compliance with OCFS regulations for Family Day Care homes and School Age Child Care Programs in Jefferson and Lewis Counties. The activities include, but are not limited to, ensuring milestones and timelines meet contract standards, reviewing inspections, approving regulatory actions, and maintaining CCFS database for the Registration program. The Supervisor will provide support to Registrars through inspection assistance, communication with the Regional Office, and professional development to build understanding of regulations and related skills. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: THE MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: -Review all inspections conducted by Registrar staff and assist with document management as required by contract. -Enter notes and inspection details into CCFS promptly and completely, as applicable. -Investigate facility complaints according to contract procedures. -Identify and recruit new providers through departmental communication and community contact. -Identify provider need trends and assist with planning for training and technical assistance with provider services staff. -Facilitate communication between OCFS, the Syracuse regional office, and department staff. -Prepare for file reviews, set quarterly inspection targets, and ensure consistency of case management. -Manage training for Registration staff to ensure compliance and effective, efficient practices. -Complete support activities that ensure compliance with JLCP, CAPC, and contractual policies and procedures. -Handles other duties as may be required or assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in business, early childhood education or human services required. REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE: 1 to 3 years working in a regulated child care setting, 1 to 3 years in compliance (contract and regulatory). SKILLS: Above average computer skills; ability to maintain accurate and complete records; demonstrated knowledge of NYS child care regulations, and methods of increasing quality in child care programs; excellent organizational and time management skills. MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMANDS: Requires close mental and visual ability and attention to perform job duties, primarily to perform data entry work, use a computer, and/or extensive reading WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment and some driving required in Jefferson and Lewis counties to complete site visits and technical assistance. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Able to be non-judgmental in working with diverse families, work as part of a team, able to complete tasks independently, maintain a professional appearance in manner and attire when dealing with co-workers, clients and the general public.
