Job Title: Road Crew Laborer Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for Road Crew Laborers.Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.Responsibilities/Job Duties:•Have the ability and willingness to dig, spread and level construction materials with a shovel or rake•Work with others to help complete tasks in a timely manner •Varying types of work including: digging, flagging, raking •Basic troubleshootingRequired Skills/Abilities:•Reliable transportation to and from work•Strong work ethic•Physical Organization and time management •Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary•Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools•CDL License a plus•Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted•Consent to a DMV license evaluation•Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety CertificatePhysical Requirements:•Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds•Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements•Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present•Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squattingOther Preferred Qualities:•Ability to read and understand SDS •Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) •High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferred•Basic math skillsPosition is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame.
