This new position will provide direction and supervision to the onsite camp counselors and directors to ensure all applicable program and safety guidelines are being followed at both K-5 camp locations (Webster Recreation Center and Klem Road South School). The position will supervise, manage, and support camp staff during the summer season while working to ensure a fun and safe space for all campers and camp staff.

This position reports directly to the Recreation Director with oversight by the current Recreation Supervisor. This position will travel regularly between the Klem Road South and Webster Recreation Center camp locations for oversight and check-in. Ideally this person would be onboarded early enough to assist with camp counselor and director interviews during April and May.

Typical Duties: (and others as assigned) Participates in the pre-camp planning and prep work including but not limited to recruitment/enrollment of campers, applications, and scheduling; Assists with identifying, interviewing and hiring camp counselors and camp directors; Supervises and monitors camp counselors and camp directors to ensure program and safety guidelines are followed, including their requested time off, shift coverage and payroll. Coordinates with camp supervisors to handle discipline; Leads and coordinates summer camp trainings and mid-summer debriefing for all camp staff; Serves as direct contact for parents regarding any camp concerns, issues or questions. Participates in camp required sign in/sign out process with Rec-Trac coordinator; Assures all records are accurate including but not limited to transportation, attendance, rosters, and staff contact lists. Works with the recreation staff to ensure weekly field trips are coordinated; Meets directly with Recreation Director as needed.

Acceptable Training and Experience: Graduation from a recognized college or university plus one seasons' experience in recreation or any equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to indicate ability to do the work.
