As an HR Business Partner (HRBP) with SUEZ, you’ll be a member of the New York regional leadership team helping guide and align our workforce and business objectives. You will be a business partner to management, acting as an employee champion and change agent. Assessing and anticipating HR-related needs is vital as is developing solutions to create good alignment within your teams.

You will use your consultative approach to guide a workforce that consists of union and non-union workers on everything from compensation planning, environmental health and safety, diversity and inclusion, workforce planning/ development and other areas. Core Requirements :

  • Undergraduate degree in related field preferred or equivalent work experience. Master’s level degree is a plus

  • 5-7 years' of experience with multiple human resource disciplines including; compensation practices, organizational design, employee and union relations, diversity, and performance management

  • Experience working with union staff is required

  • Periodic travel between NY and Rhode Island locations is necessary

Other Useful Skills & Experience:

  • Bonus points if you’re certified - SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)

  • Must have ability to prioritize work, work independently, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects and multitask while delivering high quality results.

More about the role:

This is an important role with substantial growth opportunity and we are looking for a capable & seasoned HR professional who understands what it means to be a true partner to the business. You’ll work closely with out NY VP/ GM covering 5 sites in two states that consist of approximately 225 employees and two CBA/ union contracts. Some of the key functions for this role include:

  • Provide consultancy services to management in all areas of HR.Advise and counsel employees on HR policies, procedures and practices.Ensure compliance with all Company policies, consistent with Company objectives and government regulations

  • Coordinate with Compensation and Talent Acquisition & Development teams in the development and review of job descriptions, posting of new positions and coordination of interviews with the goal of building a pipeline of talent. Coach the hiring managers and other interviewers, resulting in the lowest possible turnover and the highest levels of new hire quality and talent.

  • Administration of compensation programs including STIP (Short Term Incentive Program) and salary adjustment programs (i.e. position in range adjustments). Manage the Performance Development Review (PDR) and Employee Development Review (EDR) Process for the region.

  • Work with Regional VP/GM and department managers in coordination with Division HR leader to develop succession and development plans for key talent. Provide coaching and development to employees and managers, including feedback sessions and performance improvement plans. Assist with department and/or project re-organization to align with Company objectives.

  • Handle employee and labor relations issues including investigations, grievances and complaints in accordance with company investigation practices and progressive discipline policy.Work with managers and employees for resolution and/or disciplinary action as appropriate, ensuring legal and state compliance. Actively participate and assist Director of Labor Relations with contract negotiations.
