U.S. Military Academy Theater Specialist (Stage and Lighting) NF-04 in West Point, New York

Responsibilities Serves as the Entertainment Technology Specialist with an emphasis in theatrical lighting and design for Eisenhower Hall. Uses extensive, comprehensive and practical knowledge of entertainment technology, methodologies, systems, and values to execute technical operations for multiple, separate, and diverse programs and program operations. Serves as the subject matter specialist in plans, operations, designs and systems engineering for state-of-the-art stage and concert lighting and control systems. Provides expertise in the development of new approaches and procedures to accomplish technical requirements of the programs in an efficient, cost effective, and safe manner. Assists Program Managers in aspects of their programs related to areas of specific responsibility, training temporary personnel and assigned soldiers in equipment and system use and safety. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications 1. Extensive knowledge of principles, concepts, techniques, methods and theories of stage lighting and theatrical productions. 2. Must be able to independently implement lighting design and interpretation, operation of technical lighting equipment gained through relevant experience. 3. Must have proven abilities in the establishment and maintenance of work standards and the ability to teach non-professional performers/technicians of all skills levels. 4. Must have working knowledge, skill and abilities in computer operation, and strong abilities in written and oral communication. This experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. Highly Preferred Criteria: A minimum of four years verifiable professional/technical experience with Broadway type and "name" show concert formats, operational, and production methodologies equivalent in content, theatricality, artistic, and technical level. The experience/education/certification must be reflected on your resume and your degree/transcript/certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered a highly preferred candidate. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
