U.S. Military Academy Training Instruction (Athletic Trainer) NF-04 in West Point, New York

Responsibilities Serves as a member of the Sports Medicine Team under the general supervision of the Director of Physical Education Head Athletic Trainer in support of the Competitive Club Sports Program. As Athletic Trainer administers injury care, prevention, and rehabilitation techniques for athletic injuries occurring in the Competitive Sports Program. Attends professional seminars and presentations on the latest athletic training techniques in order to keep current and maintain required annual professional certification. Conducts pre-participation screening for club sports activities; develops emergency action plans and other pertinent safety policies for each competitive sports activity. Responsible for all logistical requirements involving the athletic training coverage of club events including: Developing and managing a budget, ordering medical supplies, scheduling transportation requests, and preventive maintenance on equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications A four-year bachelor's degree in an academic field related to the work of the position, from an accredited college or university. In addition to the basic requirement above: One (1) year of progressively responsible work experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level, which showcases utilizing proper occupational therapy theories, physical rehabilitation and prevention techniques. OR: Two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree. Must have knowledge in budget, medical supply, safety and inventory management, and ability to conduct preventive maintenance on all athletic training room equipment. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
