NOTE: All employees are expected to work the full duration of the Summer Program (6 weeks) All teacher aides are required to assist students in the pool/water activities. *NOTE: July 1st – Set-up day for all programs (All staff must attend)
Hours: 8:10 AM – 2:10 PM
Salary: $14.00 per hour E1B Current 10-Month Teacher Aide - $15.50 per hour

Position Title: Substitute Teacher Aide, Summer Program for Students with Disabilities (Exact Number of Positions to be Determined)
Location: Erie 1 BOCES Summer Program Maryvale Middle School (Cheektowaga) Heim Middle School (Williamsville) West Seneca East Middle School (West Seneca)
Teacher Aides may be assigned as a classroom aide, personal aide, or recreational aide in the pool or gymnasium.
Specific Duties: (Illustrative only; not all inclusive)
Assists with activities as the teacher requests.
Works with individual children as the teacher requests.
Assists children in arriving and leaving to remove or put on clothing, put clothing and lunch boxes away or prepare for going home.
Helps keep supplies and materials in order.
Helps prepare materials for their use.
Cleans up and puts away materials after use.
Helps prepare for snake time and clean up.
Changes children’s clothing and cleans children if this should be necessary through a toilet or eating accident.
Cares for a child when removal from the classroom is necessary or when the child must go to another part of the building and needs supervision; accompany child to special area subjects (e.g. art, music, PE) if requested.
Supervises games and free plan as requested, both indoors and outdoors.
Supervises lunch activities as the teacher requests.
Assist students in swimming pool/water activities.
Performs as teacher requests: a. taking of attendance b. help to check seatwork and correct papers c. sets up audio-visual equipment d. assists in decorating bulletin boards e. helps children learn to manipulate objects correctly f. guides movement of children in music activity or in craft projects.
Qualifications: ----High School Diploma/High School Graduate ----At least 18 years of age (prior to July 1st) ---- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred ----Staff with prior Summer Program experience with Erie 1 BOCES will be given preference
