Fox Fruit Farm Ag. Equipment Operator in Williamson, New York

2 fulltime seasonal H-2A jobs available 01/20/2024- 11/15/2024.

Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery, Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers, Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, Operate or tend to farm equipment and vehicles, adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions, Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, Walk beside or ride on planting machines while inserting plants in planter mechanisms at specified intervals, trimming trees and orchard maintenance, bin repair, hand thinning, summer prune, plant trees, trellis work, orchard maintenance. All workers are to be treated with respect and dignity; they are a critical part of this farm. The workers are also expected to treat the farm's facilities as if they are their own. The farm's housing should be kept clean. When the workers leave, the facilities should be returned to the condition in which they were upon arrival.

Requirements:

  • Must have 6 months verifiable experience in the tasks described.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Frequent stooping and repetitive movements.
  • Extensive pushing/ pulling and sitting or walking
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
