Lagoner Farms Agricultural Equipment Operator in Williamson, New York

Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment, adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks, operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops, walk beside or ride on planting machines while inserting plants in planter mechanisms at specified intervals, drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers, summer pruning trees, planting trees, planting berry crops, planting vegetable crops, weeding crops, orchard maintenance, irrigation set up and maintenance, climb ladders, pick apples from trees, pick berries, pick stone fruit, pick vegetable crops, sort and pack fruit and vegetable crops, drive harvested crops to cold storage, drive vehicle, unload harvested crops, clean and maintain packing area and cold storage, drive fruits & vegetables to market to stock tables, clean and maintain vehicles, water plants, press apples for cider, help package cider, help pasteurize cider, clean press and pressing area, maintenance of property, bin repair, mowing and spraying with tractor.
Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (weather on or off the farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach the farm fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess an appropriate license, no one will be rejected for this position that does not possess a drivers license.
Requirements:
- 3 months verifiable experience
- Exposure to extreme temperatures
- Extensive sitting/walking, pushing/pulling
- Repetitive movements
- Frequent stooping/bending over
- Lifting requirement of 75 pounds.
